Events

On 13 May 2026, the Austrian National Chapter hosted its kick-off event in Vienna, Austria, hosted by the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). The launch event brought together Austrian CoARA members, interested parties, and representatives from the Ministry.

Thank you to everyone who joined our CoARA National Chapter Austria Kick-Off at the Austrian Academy of Sciences! Your energy and ideas made it a fantastic start.

Special thanks to our speakers for sharing insights on CoARA’s impact, the future of research assessment, and the role of AI. We were also honored to welcome Matthias Girod from the CoARA Secretariat, having Elmar Pichl from BMFWF with us, hearing insights from Joachim Reidl from Uni Graz and having a warm welcome from Sibylle Wentker from ÖAW. Karen Stroobants joined us virtually with an inspiring keynote on the role of National Chapter within and beyond the CoARA universe.

It’s inspiring to see how much is already happening in our organizations—and how much we can achieve together. We look forward to building on these discussions, sharing best practices, and supporting each other as we shape the future of research in Austria.
