Working Group Co-Chair Forum 2025 in Graz
CoARA WG Co-Chairs Forum 2025 in Graz
Serving the CoARA Community: Working Groups Mission, Impact, and Legacy
Objectives:
This year’s hybrid WG Co-Chair Forum, taking place on November 12-13th, 2025 in Graz, Austria, marks the end of term for most CoARA Working Groups belonging to the 1st wave. The event will not only mark the moment of passing on the baton to the 2nd wave of WGs but will also foster reflections on ensuring sustainability and legacy for the 1st CoARA WGs.
The event will bring together WG Co-Chairs, members of the CoARA Steering Board and Secretariat, as well as representatives from the support team for Working Groups, to discuss strategic matters, such as: what are the best ways to firmly connect Working Groups’ outputs to the Coalition and beyond, and how can Working Groups transition into lasting communities of practice with clear missions, outputs, and legacies?
Working Group Co-Chairs are invited to share insights along the following lines:
- Reflections on the starting point: What were the expectations of your WG’s
members when initially joining the WG? - Reflections on current outputs: How can WG outputs best be disseminated to ensure to ensure that outputs are widely connected to Coalition members and beyond?
- Reflections on next steps: Is there an envisioned afterlife for your WG?
Specific objectives of the event:
- Networking with each other and meeting the CoARA Steering Board
- Discussing the transition of WGs into communities of practice and their envisioned outputs-
- Clarifying channels for internal and external communication and dissemination of Working Groups’ objectives, work plans, membership, and activities
- Reflecting on endorsement processes and the CoARA Toolbox
- Exploring the legacy and sustainability of WGs beyond their formal mandate
